Safeguarding
Safe, Respectful and Inclusive — for Every Young Person
YCESS is committed to creating safe, respectful and inclusive environments for children and young people. Our safeguarding expectations apply to staff, volunteers, partners and participants across our programmes and events.
- Council & staff
- Volunteers & mentors
- Judges & coaches
- Partners & vendors
- Participants & families
What this means in practice
- The development, safety and dignity of young people come before any other consideration in our decisions.
- Adults working with young people at our events are expected to behave respectfully, transparently and appropriately at all times.
- Photography and media involving minors is handled with care — concerns about any published image can be raised with us at any time.
- Concerns raised in good faith are taken seriously and handled with discretion.
