ABOUT
About YAI Singapore
AI is now part of how young people learn and create. YAI gives students a simple, fair stage to try it for real: come up with an idea, make it themselves, and explain it out loud. Season 26/27 is our first season. It runs from October 2026 to January 2027 and ends with Demo Weekend on 16–17 January 2027.
YAI is, and isn’t
| YAI is | YAI isn’t |
|---|---|
| A season to build at your own pace, plus a two-day Demo Weekend | A 24-hour or overnight hackathon |
| For students aged 7–19 studying in Singapore, any nationality | A course or workshop; we don't teach classes |
| Open registration, no cap, with live finals: 3–5 finalist teams per track in each age group present live | A qualifier for any other competition |
| Judged on published criteria | A promise of a finals place, awards, admissions or official certification |
About the organiser
YAI Singapore is organised by YCESS, the Youth and Children Education Society (Singapore), a society registered in Singapore (UEN T19SS0173D).
Academic committee
An academic committee of three to five educators and specialists signs off the challenges and scoring guides, calibrates reviewers and judges, and reviews appeals. Members will be listed here once confirmed.
