YAI Singapore 2026/27
Code of Conduct
Draft · version 1.0 to be confirmed
YAI is for young people to learn, make and speak up. Everyone involved, including students, parents, lead adults, staff, judges, volunteers and partners, helps keep it safe, kind and fair.
Everyone
Be kind and respectful. No harassment, bullying or discrimination. Don't share photos or details of other people's children. Follow staff instructions on safety.
Students
Do your own work and be honest about help and AI use. Respect other teams' projects. Don't put other people's private information into AI tools. Don't share the challenge brief publicly.
Sharing and inviting
If you share your Player Card or referral code, share with people you know, once per group chat. Don't post in school or class chats unless a teacher says it's OK, don't message strangers, and never pressure anyone to sign up. If you post for the Reach Bonus, follow the safe-share checklist: under-13s post only through a parent's or school's account, and no bought likes, bots, like-for-like groups or paid promotion. Never pressure anyone to like or share.
Community Choice
Don't offer gifts or favours for votes, don't hand out food, sweets or giveaways at your table, and don't agree to swap votes with other teams.
Parents and lead adults
Teach and support, but don't do the work. Stay in the audience during presentations and don't answer for students. Lead adults attend Demo Weekend and arrange pick-up.
Staff, judges and volunteers
Never be alone with a child in a closed room. Contact participants only through YAI's own channels (team emails copied to parents), never through private messages. Declare conflicts of interest and step aside. Keep questions friendly; never shame a student. From YAI accounts, don't follow, like or comment on students' social media posts. YAI's official account reposts a post only with the poster's OK (a parent's for under-13s).
Partners
Stay in your booth area. Don't approach judging zones. No promises of awards or admissions. Collect contacts only from parents who choose to share them, not from children. Don't photograph or film students for your own use. Repost a YAI post only with the poster's OK (a parent's for under-13s), and never ask students to tag you.
Raising a concern
Email safeguarding@ (address to be confirmed), or at Demo Weekend tell any staff member or the info desk. Students can raise concerns themselves. We take every report seriously and act on it.
If the code is broken
We'll check what happened and listen to everyone involved, then act: a reminder, losing Ambassador status, removal from the event or disqualification, depending on how serious it is.
